Project Pegboard

About Us

Letter From the Founder:

Welcome to Project Pegboard!

The model for Project Pegboard was born from my daily activities as an ornamental iron contractor in Tucson, Arizona.  On a daily basis I meet with homeowners and contractors regarding various projects around their home or job site.  Many times the scope of work is not a service that we provide, but the person did not know who to contact to complete their project, especially for small jobs that the larger companies either will not bid, or charge an excessive minimum fee to complete.  Tucson, like many communities, relies on word-of-mouth referrals more than expensive advertising.  Being an ornamental iron contractor for 20 years, I know a lot of people with extensive trade skills who do not advertise and are difficult to find without an introduction.  These individuals may be professional contractors, or regular people with daily jobs who use their skills and tools to  make money in their spare time.

To help the customer I take pictures of the job site and forward those pictures along with a brief job description, cross-streets of job site, and the customer's budget to my numerous contacts. Any responses that I receive I then forward to the customer for consideration.  The customer can then respond to any of the contacts that they think might be a good fit. This type of networking has proven an invaluable tool for both skilled trades people, like myself, and customers looking for those skill sets.

Project Pegboard is a streamlined version of this process.  We hope it grows into a community resource for people needing work to be done as well as skilled trades people looking to increase their business while avoiding the excessive cost of advertising that artificially inflates the cost of a project.

We encourage feedback and would love to hear your ideas for how to make Project Pegboard even better.

Sincerely,

Jeff O'Neill
